Proposed* Omega Day Centers hosts the Group Supported Employment Service, soon offered by Omega Health, which includes a professional and inclusive approach to workforce integration. In an group-integrated environment, the program emphasizes the development of job skills, teamwork, and work ethic, tailored to everyone’s abilities and career aspirations. Participants receive ongoing support and guidance from skilled employment specialists, facilitating not just job placement but also long-term employment success.
Group supported employment is like individual-supported employment, but with a group of colleagues, and is defined as an employment service that shall be continuous support provided by staff in a naturally occurring place of employment to groups of two to eight individuals with disabilities and involves interactions with the public and coworkers who do not have disabilities.
This service shall be provided in a community setting that promotes integration into the workplace and interaction in the workplace between participants and people without disabilities. Examples include mobile crews and other business-based workgroups employing small groups of workers with disabilities in the community. Group supported employment settings shall comply with the HCBS setting requirements per 42 CFR 441.301.
